What is php treatment?

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides intensive, structured therapy during the day, allowing teens to return home in the evenings. Think of it as a “day program” for mental health. It’s an ideal option for teens who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy but don’t require 24/7 residential care.

After our daughter completed the residential program, we were pretty nervous about her going back home – but the outpatient program really helped. She continued to receive therapy while adjusting to being back to her normal routines. It gave us peace of mind knowing she had that ongoing support.” – Emily J., Scottsdale, AZ

FAQ’s about our Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program in Scottsdale

The length of our Scottsdale teen Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) varies depending on each teen’s individual needs and progress. While there’s no one-size-fits-all answer, most teens participate in our PHP for several weeks to a few months. Some may need more time to develop strong skills. Our team will work closely with you and your teen to create a personalized treatment plan that includes a projected length of stay, and we’ll regularly reassess their progress to ensure they’re receiving the right level of support. We understand that families need to plan, and we’re committed to providing clear and consistent communication throughout the process. We can discuss your child’s needs, during your FREE consultation.

Both Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) offer more support than traditional weekly therapy, but they differ in intensity and time commitment. Our Scottsdale PHP is the most intensive outpatient option, typically involving several hours of therapy and structured activities each day, 5 days per week. It’s like a “day hospital” for mental health. IOPs, on the other hand, usually involve fewer hours of therapy per week (often 3-4 days a week for a few hours each day). Think of PHP as a step down from residential treatment or a step up from traditional outpatient therapy, while IOP is a step down from PHP or a step up from weekly therapy. The best choice for your teen depends on their specific needs and the severity of their symptoms. We’re happy to help you determine the right level of care.

The success of a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) depends on many factors, including the individual teen’s needs, their commitment to treatment, family involvement, and the specific program’s approach. At Avery’s House Scottsdale, we define success not just by symptom reduction, but also by helping teens develop the skills and resilience they need for long-term well-being. We use proven methods and tailor our program. While we can’t give a single “success rate” percentage that applies to everyone, we closely track our clients’ progress using standardized assessments, like the PHQ-9 for depression and the GAD-7 for anxiety, and we consistently see significant improvements in their symptoms. We are happy to talk with you more specifically about what treatment goals and success might look like for your child.

We understand what you’re going through. In our free, no-pressure consultation, you can share your teen’s story with someone who truly understands, explore available solutions, discuss insurance and payment options, and develop a clear plan for supporting your teen.
